29 Behind the Scenes Facts from Full House
The sitcom Full House had a full run on ABC, spanning eight seasons and 192 episodes from 1987 to 1995. You know Michelle was played by those now-so-hip Olsen twins, but there is plenty most Full House trivia and behind the scenes scoop to learn! These Full House facts will take you back to TGIF and let you in on all kinds of Full House secrets from the set, the actors, and more!

Set in San Francisco, the show followed widowed father Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) who moves in with his friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) and his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) to help raise his three daughters: D.J. (Candace Cameron), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). The Olsen twins built an empire after exposure on Full House, and Stamos became a Greek yogurt-shilling heartthrob.

But did you know that someone else played Danny in the pilot? Or that only one episode was actually filmed in San Francisco? How about the family dog Comet's other blockbuster role?

This beloved family sitcom picked up several awards over the years and was a cultural phenomenon back in the late '80s and early '90s. As of August 2014, there is even talk of rebooting the series with some of the original cast members. Who is game to return? Read on for that and all the full details... about Full House!

29 Behind the Scenes Facts from Full House,

There Was a Reason Michelle Was Ambidextrous
Mary-Kate Olsen is left-handed, and Ashley is right-handed. That is one way to tell which actress you are watching over the course of the show, since she uses both hands to write, eat, and hold a phone.
The Tanner House Was Worth Bank
The oldest of San Francisco's seven "Painted Ladies" was used for exterior shots of the Tanner house. In 2014, the house sold for $3.1 million.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Didn't Cry During Their Audition
Professional even at a young age, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were chosen for the role of Michelle because they were the only twins at the audition that didn't cry.
The Show Received Numerous Awards
Full House won several awards over its long run, including a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for "Favorite Actress" (Candace Cameron), Young Artist Awards, and even a TV Land award for "Favorite Elvis Impersonation" (John Stamos, of course).
More Full House Is on the Way
Thanks to Netflix and Warner Bros. Television, Full House is coming back as Fuller House, a full-blown sequel series. Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber are all returning.

Mary-Kate Was the Jokester, Ashley Was the Serious Actress
To get Michelle more involved in both the comedy and the more heartfelt moments on the show, Mary-Kate focused on nailing the comedic bits, while Ashley was used for serious, more emotional scenes.
John Stamos Fought to Keep Both Mary-Kate and Ashley
By the time the twins were six year olds, audiences could tell them apart. Though the powers that be considered having just Mary-Kate continue in the role, Stamos didn't want Ashley to have to leave, so both were kept on.
Joey Hearts Detroit... For Real
On the show, Joey (Dave Coulier) has a lot of Detroit Red Wing paraphernalia. In real life, Coulier is actually from the Detroit area.
Which Character Spoke the First Line of the Series?
Danny Tanner, played by Bob Saget, had the first line in the series. For Full House to come full circle, he also spoke the last line in the series.
Only One Episode Was Actually Filmed in San Francisco
The season eight episode "Comet's Excellent Adventure" was the only episode of the series to actually be filmed in San Francisco. Thank you, TV magic!
